ARIES NEW MOON HOROSCOPES- 3/21/2023
Updated: Mar 30
The New Moon cycle begins again under the Ram's watch.
It's time for your monthly 'New Moon Numen'. What is numen?
nu·men- the spirit or divine power presiding over a thing or place.
These horoscopes are designed with the astrological spirit/essence of the Moon in mind. It's not just a horoscope, but also a guide on how to best use the Moon's numen. New Moons are a time for manifesting, planting, and beginning. The Moon is at her darkest, and that darkness acts as rich humus that we can scatter the seeds of our desires in. New Moons also feel special due to the Moon being conjunct the Sun. The luminaries are together, floating in unison if only for the briefest moment. During that moment when the Sun and Moon are aligned we receive a spark, that if used wisely, can turn into a magnificent blaze.
Each horoscope will be a blend of two parts: The astrology, and how to focus that energy. The astrology portion is simply explaining what we're looking at and its influences. House placement, sign, and strong aspects (an orb of 2°) will be taken into consideration when assessing the Moon's numen. The focus portion is meant to further hone in and guide you using real life examples of how the energy could play out. It may not be the exact situation you're experiencing, but it will be in the same realm. Also take your natal placements into account when assessing the energy of this Moon. If you have a natal planet making a major aspect to the Moon, especially a conjunction, then the Moon will express as a blended energy for you.
The Moon's Numen
It's Aries season which means that Spring has officially sprung! The Spring equinox was ushered in with the ingression of the the Sun into Aries on 3/20, and the following day we have the first New Moon in a new zodiacal lunar cycle. This Moon is in cardinal Fire, which means it's a forceful Moon! It's like Spring itself bursting forth after being subdued by Winter's chill for all those months. This Aries energy is going to feel extra potent and exciting because the ruler of Aries, Mars, finally reached the degree it went retrograde at, what seems like a million years ago now. This means Mars is fully up to speed and any projects or loose ends that had still been lagging are primed to take flight or be tidied up.
Last month's New Moon wasn't making any tight aspects with any planets, and the same can be said for this New Moon. I tend to use super tight orbs because I want to hear the loudest and juiciest conversations. You could make a case that the Moon is going to be conjunct Mercury with an orb of 5°, but that's not quite loud enough for me. So, while there's no tight aspects being made to this Moon, we do have a good bit of other planets/placements in Aries, which is bolstering the cardinal Fire energy. Again, the ruler of this Moon is back to full speed since 3/15, so we're going to see a renewed sense of vitality and energy to get shit done. All those little annoying errands or things that had a holding period on them will finally find resolution.
We'll also take a look at the New Moon's decan and bounds to see what influences might be trickling down from those sub-rulers. Below is the chart for the New Moon. We can see the pile up of Aries energy clear as a fresh Spring day.
